Recent Call Virtual Office Hours Drop-in Session with Daniel Brown Law

Description: The Virtual Office Hours Drop-In Session gives Recent Calls the opportunity to receive guidance on a current file from experienced senior counsel in a private Zoom breakout room. This session features senior counsel from Daniel Brown Law, including Daniel Brown, Hilary Dudding, Jason Dos Santos, Trevin David, and Lindsay Board. Participants may sign up in advance and will be scheduled to meet with one of the lawyers in a breakout room. Recent Calls are invited to discuss a specific issue arising from one of their cases and receive practical feedback or guidance. Where possible, participants will be matched with counsel whose experience aligns with the subject matter of their question (i.e. sexual assault, Garafoli’s, impaired driving, or evidentiary/procedural issues, etc.).
Speakers/Bios:
Daniel Brown specializes in defending both individuals and corporations in criminal and regulatory litigation. His extensive experience includes successfully handling criminal and quasi-criminal trials, regulatory and professional discipline hearings, appeals, advisory work, and witness representation. Daniel has represented clients facing charges ranging from domestic assault and drug possession, to impaired driving, sexual assault and murder.
Hilary Dudding - Partner
Hilary has defended almost every type of criminal charge from theft to murder and has developed a special proficiency defending individuals charged with sexual assault, drug offences, and human trafficking. Hilary has conducted countless judge and jury trials, motions, appeals and complex litigation at every level of court in Ontario.
Jason has run over one thousand criminal trials in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. His track record includes the successful defence of charges ranging from First Degree Murder, Firearms and Drug Offences, and Criminal Organization cases to Sexual Assault, Domestic Assault, and Impaired Driving. Beyond criminal defence, Jason has also represented clients in complex quasi-criminal and regulatory proceedings, appearing before bodies such as the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, the Ontario Securities Commission, and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Trevin’s criminal defence practice is restricted to defending trial matters in the Greater Toronto Area and elsewhere before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. The majority of his work is focused on representing people charged with serious indictable offences. Trevin has a particular interest in the defence of sexual assault matters, firearm and drug cases, search warrant litigation, serious crimes of violence, and other criminal constitutional litigation.
Lindsay’s practice focuses on criminal trials and appeal work. Lindsay defends her clients against a range of criminal offences, including domestic violence, sexual offences, driving offences, and firearm and drug offences. Lindsay has significant experience in constitutional litigation, and regularly crafts arguments to challenge laws or police actions. She also has a particular interest in bail matters. Lindsay maintains a strong appellate practice, with frequent appearances at the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada.
